Minnesota Waking the Oracle

The Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Health at the University of Minnesota has led its field in research-based, forward-thinking, integrative health, and healing work for close to 30 years. The Bakken Center’s collaboration with Immergent in multimodal arts-based experiences such as Stories That Heal and Waking the Oracle will provide opportunities to not only study community healing and wellbeing, but also create opportunities for these experiences to take place in more communities.

The goal is to support and train individuals, groups, and teams to catalyze change within their communities through mentorship, educational resources, and community support. Through research and participation in contemplative arts, community organizing, relational art making, neuroscience, community storytelling, and education, it is our intention to create adaptable trainings that meet the needs of participants.

Music and the arts have always been forces that can bring people together who may never otherwise come together.

Elements of the Earl E. Bakken Center Research Project

The Bakken Center and Immergent’s multi-year research project will pioneer an academic emphasis on community healing and wellbeing by studying the effects of three events: Waking the Oracle at the University of Minnesota, Heritage Park in Fort Worth, Texas, and Stories That Heal in Northern Michigan.
