Matt Rahaim is a teacher, performer, and student of Hindustani vocal music and a musical improvisor. He has trained in the Gwalior tradition for twenty years, first in Pune under Vikas Kashalkar, and lately under the guidance of his guru, L.K. Pandit, in Delhi. He is Associate Professor of Music at the University of Minnesota, with affiliations in Religious Studies, Asian Languages/Literatures/Media, and Cultural Studies & Comparative Literature and an active performing musical improviser. Matt played the role of The Living Questions in the first Waking The Oracle pilot at George Washington University in 2019.
